Face:
- First up is moisturiser. I've picked up a new moisturiser for daytime and currently am loving using it! It's by Nivea (Daily Essentials) and it's their Light Moisturising Day Cream with SPF 15. If you have read my blog before you'll know how often I emphasise wearing an SPF on your face and this moisturiser is just what I've been looking for lately. Nice and light, soaks in really quickly and smells good too! Lately I've been loving keeping my heavier, richer creams/serums for night-time and I like to use this lighter moisturiser in the day.
- After about 10 mins I apply my GOSH Velvet Touch Primer with my fingers. But honestly, on some days I do skip this step and just move on to my eye makeup.
Eyes:
- I give my moisturiser and or primer some time so absorb into my skin and while I'm waiting I move on to my eye makeup. I'll first start off by applying some of Urban Decay's Primer Potion. I then curl my eyelashes using my No7 curlers.
- As I said I like to keep things fresh and light this season so all I like to use on my eyes are 2 eyeshadows- MAC's Corduroy Matte eyeshadow all over my lid, blended with my MAC 217 and then some of MAC's Mulch Velvet eyeshadow in the crease to smoke it out a little. These two shadows work really well together.
- Sometimes if I'm feeling a bit wild, I'll add some of the creamy glitter to the inner corner of my eye. This one is from Wet'n'Wild and is called Spiked. As usual I'll apply some liquid liner to my eyelids- I'm still loving Rimmel's Exaggerate liquid liner. Just before I finish up I am using my Essence Chubby Eyeliner (the black end) on my waterline and tightline, for some definition.
- And to finish up, I apply mascara-I'm still using YSL's Babydoll Mascara* in Black.
Face:
- I then come back to my face and apply my foundation. I've either been using my NARS Sheer Glow (Deauville) or a sample of MAC's Studio Sculpt (NW15) that I picked up last time I was in MAC. (I don't think I'm too keen on the MAC foundation- I much prefer my NARS one!) I'm still using my Real Techniques Expert face brush to apply my foundation.
- After my foundation I apply a little corrector under my eyes and this month I've been trying out Shiseido's Sheer Eye Zone Corrector* (103) to compact any redness or darkness.
- For highlight, I apply some of No7's Skin Illuminator (shade Peach) to my forehead, the tops of my cheekbones and down my nose, for a nice spring glow. I add to that by using a little of MAC's Cream Colour Base in Hush to my cheeks also, using the Real Techniques Stipple brush for both.
- For a quick contour and to bronze things up, as usual I apply MAC's Give me Sun Bronzer using my blush brush from Real Techniques.
Eyebrows:
- To finish off I like to fill in my eyebrows using one simple product from Avon and it's their eyeshadow palette called Little Red Dress/Hollywood. I use the matte brown colour and finish off with some clear brow gel to set them in place. Mine is from Collection (formally Collection 2000) and I'm in need of a new one!
Lips:
- To keep in tune with the fresh look, I'll either keep my lips au natural, with just some lip balm or apply a new favourite of mine and that is YSL's Baby Doll Kiss and Blush. It comes in a bottle similar to nail varnish but it's a creamy, matte-look product that can be used on your lips or your cheeks. I have the shade no.7 Coral Affranchi*. Here's a picture of me wearing it!
Here is a picture of the finished look when I'm not wearing any lip colour, just a small bit of lip balm! It's as simple as that! I like to mix drugstore and high-end makeup but it's so easy to recreate. I love keeping my makeup nice and fresh for spring!
